  • Serena and Steve Logue • House Parents

Serena and Steve have spent the majority of their marriage working together, as business owners and as parents. The two of them have shared the experience as Family Teachers for Father Flanagan’s Girls and Boys Town, where they modeled appropriate behaviors, morals and teaching youth life skills, while living with at-risk, high level behavior teenage girls.

Serena has extensive training in Crisis Pregnancy Counseling. She has been a volunteer Counselor for a Crisis Pregnancy Center and Education for a Lifetime, in both San Diego and Colorado Springs. Serena has a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies, is a nationally certified EMT, certified as a Placenta Encapsulation Specialist and has also served as a leader in many Bible studies, all of which are an incredible asset to her role as a House Parent.

Steve has over 20 years of experience in owning and managing several successful small businesses – which significantly influenced his efficiency in serving as a House Parent – as this required energy, perseverance, vision, organization, budgeting and the ability to interact and understand other people. Steve also has experience working at a youth ranch, where he worked daily with the youth – teaching them new skills and encouraging their endeavors.

The Logue’s have a heart for the youth and they believe that God has given them the opportunity to support those going through challenging times in their lives. Both Serena and Steve consider themselves to have servant’s hearts and exemplify Christ as a married couple, as parents to their 3 boys - Charlie, Max and Reagan, and as business partners.

  • Kymberly and Kirk Richard • House Parents

Kymberly and Kirk have been married for five years and have two toddlers - one daughter named River and one son Hezekiah. The Richard’s moved to Houston from San Diego when they joined LifeHouse as House Parents.

Kymberly has experience in her role as a stay-at-home mom to her two children, a personal accountant, web designer as well as a personal chef for a fitness company. Both family and work kept her very busy but she the skills she learned in finding balance between the two helped shape her role as a House Parent. Kymberly was very involved in the ministry at Foothills, their church in California. She served in the Thriving Mom’s group and the Praying Wives ministry.

Kirk grew up in Houston and moved to San Diego after living abroad with a Bible College and other various Christian ministries throughout the country. He also has experience in Restaurant Management – which fit well with his affinity for hospitality and serving others. Kirk loves working as a leader and especially in helping team members to grow individually in both their jobs and personal lives by reaching out with God’s love to those who might be struggling.
